An Evening With Dr. Sunita Puri ~ Canceled

Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 7:00 pm

As everyone should be aware, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and California public health officials issued a policy stating non-essential gatherings over 50 people be postponed for at least 8 weeks due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

Given our event falls inside of this window, An evening with Dr. Sunita Puri on May 5th at the Marjorie Luke Theatre has been cancelled for now. Our HSB team cares deeply about this event and the local community.

We understand this is an unprecedented and challenging time for everyone. We would like to thank you for your tremendous support, as public safety is everyone’s top priority right now. Please know that we are truly saddened by the seriousness of this pandemic, but we are hopeful and remain positive for the inevitable upturn.

Hospice of Santa Barbara presents Dr. Sunita Puri, the Medical Director of the Palliative Medicine Service at Keck Hospital and Norris Cancer Center of the University of Southern California, where she also serves as Chair of the Ethics Committee. Sunita is the author of That Good Night: Life and Medicine in the Eleventh Hour, a critically acclaimed literary memoir examining her journey to the practice of palliative medicine, and her quest to help patients and families redefine what it means to live and die well in the face of serious illness. This event is FREE and open to the community and registration is required at http://www.hospiceofsantabarbara.org/sunitapuri or by calling 805-563-8820.
