Over 140 arts and educational organizations make their home at The Luke. A rich and diverse offering of dance, music, theatre, film and special events makes the Luke a hub of the arts in Santa Barbara. In addition to being known as the place where Santa Barbara’s home-grown arts thrive, The Luke is proud to host world class artists including Savion Glover, Judy Collins, Mavis Staples, Gilles Apap, Stephen Stills, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Arturo Sandoval, Rufus Wainwright, The Takacs Quartet and the Canadian Brass. The Santa Barbara International Film Festival brings exciting workshops, lectures and screenings with Academy Award winning screenwriters, actors, producers and directors to our stage annually.
“When I first saw The Luke Theatre in it’s raw state I was stunned at it’s fallen disrepair. When I saw it at the completion of the renovation I was inspired by its authentic design come to life.”
Joe Wilcox – Principal Architect – Kruger Bensen Ziemer Architects Inc.
“Every time I attend a show at The Luke, I walk in and there are a half dozen of my old friends. Not just media pals, but people I knew growing up and still love to see. (The Luke) became a place where the community is preserved, and where it is constantly being enriched.”
